BigTopo Pro

NOTE:  BigTopo Pro is not included in the V7 Pro set.

Every All Topo Map sets includes the BigTopo tool to seam adjacent maps together for building giant custom coverage maps. BigTopo makes and exports big maps, for GIS use,  in a variety of formats, up to 77 miles in height and width.

A new extended version of BigTopo is now available as an add on product. BigTopo Pro provides these additional features:

Maps of unlimited size can be created. The standard BigTopo seamer can only build maps 32,765 pixels on a side, limiting 1:24,000 maps  to 77 miles of height and width. BigTopoPro has no image size limits for maps saved as bitmaps or .IT3 files. (It may not be possible to view images with the AllTopo viewer larger than 1/4 gigabyte on Win95/98/ME systems.

1:24,000 scale, 1:50,000, 1:63,360, 1:100,000 scale and 1:250,000 scale maps can be seamed. BigTopoPro will seam maps that cover adjacent 3 UTM zones to a single map. 

You can force a map generated with BigTopoPro to adjacent zones. For example Crystal Bay of Lake Tahoe CA can be built as a UTM Zone 10 projected map (it's natural UTM Zone):

The text font, size, style and color may be selected for UTM, Lat/Lon grids, titles and scales.

BigTopo Pro can create maps in Nad27 or Nad83, for use in All Topo Maps or for export.

BigTopoPro maps can include a scale bar, magnetic declination is computed (for the current year) and plotted:

BigTopo Pro can size a map to exactly fill a printer's page. Coverage may be specified to include all points within an AllTopo HWP file plus a user definable border.

Map coverage is now easier to define, parameters can be locked and anchored.

BigTopo Pro can exports high resolution images for the following formats: .bmp, .eps, .gif, .pcx, .png,  .tif, .jpg.

Not all users will benefit from BigTopo Pro, the standard BigTopo product is already fairly full featured. A full featured BigTopoPro installation is available for evaluation (see the links below to download your copy). The evaluation copy marks generated maps with 'Evaluation Copy'.

How to Download and Install BigTopoPro:

A fully functional evaluation copy of BigTopoPro can be downloaded and installed with your current All Topo Map set. BigTopoPro does not replace the existing BigTopo product installed on your machine. The evaluation copy will overprint 'Evaluation Copy' on the center and two corners of generated maps.
